your on-demand inventory
Most foster calls come at inconvenient times—late at night, on weekends, or with only an hour’s notice. Finding a car seat or a crib shouldn’t be your first stressor.
Our Resource Library is a specialized “borrow-and-return” system for high-quality, large items.
what's inside
New or like-new car seats, cribs, strollers, high chairs, and pack-n-plays.
how it works
Once registered, you receive a secure access code to our facility. You can pick up what you need 24/7—no appointment necessary. Keep the items as long as the child is in your care, then return them for the next family to use.
warm welcome in a suitcase
Transitions are hard. A Cozy Case is designed to give a child a sense of dignity and ownership during their first 48 hours in your home.
what's included
Unlike our library items, Cozy Cases are gifts for the child to keep. Each suitcase can be back with:
- new pjs + an outfit
- personal care items
- socks/underwear/diapers
- brand-new book
- cuddly, stuffed friend or toy
getting started is simple

3
visit + borrow
Head to our facility on Highway 18 in Clear Lake, Iowa. Grab what you need, log your items and head home to your new placement.
who can use these services?
Any licensed foster parent or kinship caregiver currently caring for a child within our 9-county service area or willing to make the trip to Clear Lake, Iowa.
what if i need something in the middle of the night?
That is exactly why we exist. Once you are registered and have your access code, the Resource Library is available to you 24/7. You don’t need to wait for business hours to get a child a safe place to sleep.
does it cost anything to borrow items?
Nope! All of our services—from the Resource Library to the Cozy Cases—are provided at zero cost to families. Our goal is to remove the financial barrier to saying “yes.”
is there a limit to how many items i can borrow?
We ask that you borrow only what you need for children currently in your care. This ensures that resources remain available for the next family who receives a “midnight call.”
what counties do you serve?
We currently serve families in Cerro Gordo, Hancock, Worth, Winnebago, Wright, Franklin, Butler, Floyd, and Mitchell counties.
can i donate my used gear?
To ensure safety and provide the highest dignity to the children we serve, we primarily focus on new or extremely high-quality items. Please check our Give Page for our current “Needs List” and quality standards.
how do cozy cases work?
Unlike our library items, Cozy Cases are gifts for the child to keep. They are designed to provide comfort and a sense of ownership during the first 48 hours of a new placement.
a quick note on registration...
If you haven’t yet, please sign the Hold Harmless agreement to register. Doing this now ensures that when your “messy, crazy yes” happens, you already have your access code in hand.
