We've got a new name! 🎉 Foster the Family is now Make Room for Yes. You're in the right place — we just got a fresh look and a name that finally fits. Same team, same mission, same village. 🧡
who we are
Make Room for Yes is a nonprofit dedicated to removing the roadblocks that stand in the way of saying “yes” to a child. We believe that no family should have to decline a placement because they lack the right gear or the space to store it. We are here to provide the tangible support you need to say “yes” with confidence.
what we do
Our facility is filled with essential gear—from cribs and car seats to strollers and high chairs. Our library is available to foster families 24/7, allowing you to come and borrow exactly what you need, exactly when you need it. When you’re done with an item, simply bring it back for the next family to use.
why it works
Fostering can be unpredictable. Our “borrow-and-return” model means you don’t have to spend money on expensive equipment for a short-term placement or find a place to store bulky items when they aren’t in use. We handle the inventory so you can focus your time and resources on the child in your care.
it takes a village
Not everyone is called to foster, but everyone can play a part. We are a Christian community equipping one another to care for God’s children. From sponsoring the purchase of new gear to volunteering at our facility, you are a vital part of the village it takes to support a foster home.

real stories from our community
Removing a roadblock is about more than just a car seat or a crib—it’s about making space for a child to feel safe and loved. Read how our 24/7 resource library and community support have helped local families focus on what matters most: the children in their care.
When we took our first ever foster placement, the last thing we wanted to think about was finding a crib and a car seat. We unfortunately had to spend more time finding a crib than we did talking and praying with our family about the situation. The next morning I had to wake up early and run to Wal-Mart to purchase a car seat before making it to work. Make Room can alleviate the stress of having to find or purchase critical items, and foster families will have so much stress taken off of them in those first 24 hrs that are some of the most difficult/stressful.
Our first call as foster parents was for a newborn baby. At the time, we were better set up for preschool and elementary aged kids. We had less than 24 hours to get everything we needed to bring the little guy home. We ended up at Target buying over $500 worth of baby supplies that night. These Target runs were almost daily for the next couple of weeks while we tried to figure out a newborn baby. Fortunately, we had the finances available to do this, but what if we hadn’t? This is the gap Make Room for Yes fills. By maintaining a library of big ticket items, we aim to provide a way for foster families to get what they need without having to spend a dime. This opens up the doors to say yes to more calls. We also aim to provide a Cozy Case full of supplies to help get through the first couple of days to children in new foster placements.
My husband and I became foster parents in 2023 and Make Room for Yes was just getting started. They were so amazing to us!! Our first placement was for two sweet siblings. One was 5 weeks and the other was 13 months. Make Room helped our first few nights go much more smoothly!! We received diapers, wipes, a can of formula, a crib and bassinet sheet and an outfit for each of them. On top of this, they lent us a stroller and car seat!! Just an amazing ministry!! Our next placement was no different and the same with our third. They allowed us to check out big items such as a wagon, a car seat and TWO bases so we could have one in each car! Make Room has truly been and continues to be the hands and feet of Jesus! We’ll forever be thankful for them!
